Evidence-based psychological interventions: What are some effective ways to assist people in overcoming anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, chronic pain, and stress? I provide training in evidence-based psychosocial treatments including cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, interoceptive exposure, screening and brief intervention for unhealthy alcohol use, mindfulness-based therapy, clinical self-hypnosis for pain control, and more. All trainings are interactive, experiential, and skills-based.
One of the most in-demand skill sets is Motivational Interviewing, an evidence-based approach for supporting behavior change, such as cutting back or quitting substance use, taking better care of our health, and more. As a member of the international Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), I provide training and consulting to support providers in learning this powerful approach.
I also consult on the development and evaluation of new treatments and programs, including guidance on how to conduct a randomized controlled trial.
